I find myself in the airport … again. Right now I am at O’Hare waiting for my connection to Dulles. I haven’t posted in a while and it seems like the only time I find time to blog is when I am waiting for a connection. Based on my travel schedule, I should have most posts. I plan to work on that.

Bex’s post on Google the MyMaps feature inspired me to start tracking my travels. I have created and shared a Google map for my travel in 2007.

Oracle officially announced some details on the Oracle Content Management Roadmap. It provides a high-level overview of the five product bundles – this is greatly simplified from the way Stellent use to sell the products. It also looks like that there are planned updates for all of the products within the next 12 months.

Salesforce.com acquires Koral

Salesforce.com has acquired SaaS Content Management vendor Koral. Koral has a simple but very slick hosted content management product and I have been impressed with them since their debut at Demo last September. If you are interested in seeing the product, Scoble’s screencast provides a good overview of the product.

It looks like Koral will form the basis of Salesforce.com new ContentXchange offering. Koral has had a partnership with Salesforce.com for a few months and has already integrated the product with Salesforce.com.

This acquisition makes a ton of sense. There is a huge benefit to integrating unstructured content into Salesforce.com existing and future apps. Now sales people can manage their proposals right along side their customer information.

  • Google Voice Local Search
A new Google service located at Google Labs. This is a free replacement for 411. You simply dial 1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411) and an automated service will provide you phone and address information for your term. The best feature is that it can send you your results in SMS.
  • Throwing Batters Curves Before Throwing a Pitch
This college pitcher is ambidextrous. He will switch arms based on the batter. He has a special mitt that he can wear on either hand. Check out the video in the article.
  • GrandCentral: The New Way to Use Your Phones
New service that provides you with one phone number to use for life. The service then allows you to manage which of your real phones (cell, home, work, etc) rings when that number is called plus there are a ton a cool features (I like the spam feature). David Pogue covered this in a recent NYTimes article.

Padres Opening Day Win

The Padres started the season off with a strong win today against the Giants.
I wasn’t able to watch the game because it was a day game (work gets in the way) and I am still waiting for my DirecTv MLB Extra Innings to be turned on. I just watched ESPN Baseball Tonight and 80% of the 2 minutes of highlights was focused on Barry Bonds – that just give me another reason to hate Barry.
